Community Service

Community Service is currently accepting quilts for Immerse Arkansas.

Immerse Arkansas works with youth ages 14 to 24 who have been in the foster care system and are aging out or are coming from crisis. They try to develop supportive relationships and provide safe spaces where the youth can access needed services. The transitional program provides housing and coaching to equip these youth as they transition to adulthood.

We will collect quilts in sizes from throw to queen and plan to deliver them early summer. There will be kits available if you wish to quilt a finished top or do the binding and label on a quilt.

We hope to have a workday on March 10 to work together to piece a quilt top using donated fabric. Watch for details in the newsletter.

We will continue to bring Fat Quarters to sell as a fund raiser for Community Service expenses.

_______________

Thank you for participating in our community service project. It is only through the generosity of the members of the guild that we can make our community service projects possible. A few gentle reminders:

  • All quilts should be checked for loose threads and pins before donation.

  • Quilts should be free of pet hair and smells of must or smoke.

  • Labels are available from community service, and should be affixed to the back of the quilt.

  • Remember, these quilts are a special gift from the guild to these individuals. Take pride in your work and give something that you would like to receive.
